1.1 Product functions overview

High definition digital image processor(HDDIP) is a new device for coexistence of analog signals and digital signals, and the coexistence of high definition signals and standard signals.It can centrally handle analog and digital signals then convert them into a unified format.It can make intuitive,simple and convenient switching to various formats of input signals.

High definition digital image processor(HDDIP) adopts modular design, plugging type structure, supporting hot plug.And it can be combined arbitrarily for customer’s selection. For different use needs,it can be selected the capacity from 4x4 to 72x72.The input signals support various formats such as DVI, HDMI, VGA, HD-SDI, Video. The output has the format of DVI-I, RJ45 and so on. High definition digital image processor is widely used in various places,like conference room command system, security monitoring system, digital city system, transfer management system and so on.

2. 1RS-232 communication interface descriptions

HDDIP all provide 2 standard RS- communication interfaces and one RS-232 IN that connected to a computer or another image processor's RS-232 OUT.The RS232 interface of multiple image processors can be connected in series. Just a single computer's RS-232 interface then can be used to control and set up a number of image processors.

RS-232 serial communication port has DB9/M and DB9/F these two kinds.

1. Operation instruction

3.1 Communication protocol

1,In order to increase its subsequent extensibility, the version V001 of the control protocol is the mainstream ASCII control mode. The follow-up needs to add protocols and add relevant protocols to the control board to support parsing.And version number (V002~V999) in the communication is the default of version number V001. When the serial port receives the ASCII code Change the Protocol to Version VXXX, where the semicolon is the end of the command (the sign must be input in English), XXX is actually used in the 3 bit digit.The following example is to use a 004 version protocol to communicate: Change the Protocol to Version V004;

2,The RS-232 communication uses the baud rate 9600, the data bit 8, the stop bit 1, and no checkout bit.

2. Introduction of software functions

4.1 Basic functions of software

The digital image processing control software is the software of the whole system for digital image processor equipment. This software can control the operation and automatically monitor the image processor. Through this software, users can control the image processor’s control system, and intelligently monitor related peripherals, and can automatically switch the system mode.The main interface is shown in Figure 4.1.

4.1.1The main functional features

Device search, connection and configuration

The configuration software has the functions of connecting equipment parameters, searching equipment, obtaining equipment information and splicing settings. It includes: searching devices through Ethernet and modifying device IP; connecting devices through serial ports or Ethernet; connecting devices; obtaining input and output information of devices; setting splicing parameters (including splicing quantity, output resolution and output correspondence).

 

Open windows and editors

Through the functions of windows opening and editing, the position and size of display window can be controlled and edited on the output screen, at the same time, the layer of window can be edited, and provide some easy shuttles like delete and zooming.

 

Plan management and polling

Saving and managing the plan, including saving the plan file, opening the plan file and invocating the plan and the preplan polling.

Auxiliary function

The functions of controlling and managing devices include the reading and displaying of EDID files, the device version, the device configuration information, the on-off power and the switch buzzer and the authorization verification. At the same time, it provides the communication and control of the splicing screen, such as the selection of the on-off power and the screen’s channel.

4.1.2 System requirements

4.2 Introduction of using software

4.2.1 The operation of the software

First, using the compression tool to decompress the "image processor control system software.Zip" file,as shown in Figure 4.2;

The image processor control system software.exe runs directly after the decompression and clicks twice the application’s file in the unzip directory, as shown in Figure 4.3

Entering the software main interface, as shown in Figure 4.4, it is divided into 2 modules, device function and auxiliary tool.

4.2.2 The connection of the equipment

Before connecting the device, please ensure that the machine has been connected to the image processor through the RS232 serial port line, or connected to the network of equipment or the network cable. Confirm the connection and click connect settings, as shown in Figure 4.5.

Open the connection setup interface. As shown in Figure 4.6, you can choose two connection ways NET and RS232 serial port. The choosing way is related to the way to connect the machine on the spot.

If it is connected through Ethernet, the IP address of the device needs to be set, and the default IP address of the device is 192.168.1.2;If the serial port is connected, it is necessary to confirm the serial number and corrected connection.

Ethernet search equipment and change IP

When connecting the processor through Ethernet, you can open the connecting setup functional interface if the IP address of the processor is not determined,. Then search the device by the network search device below and get the basic information of the device, as shown in Figure 4.6.You can click change IP in the IP address box below. When the interface shows change IP success, restart the device to take effect! It means that the IP has changed successfully, the device can be reconnected after the power is restarted. And the new IP address can be taken into effect.

Ethernet connect

Select the Ethernet connect, the default IP address is 192.168.1.2, and the default port number is 5000 (or 5001 or 5002).After finding the device by searching, click the device searched or manually enter the IP address,then click the bottom to confirm.

RS232 connect

Select serial port connect, select the serial port of the machine, the baud rate default is 9600

After setting up the connecting parameters, click OK.

After the connection setting is completed, click the connecting device and automatically obtain the device’s information. As shown in Figure 4.7.

4.2.3 The splicing of the equipment

The splicing parameters need to be configured before controlling the processor's window function, such as the number of screens, the output resolution, and the screen grouping.

Screen grouping

Click screen grouping, as shown in Figure 4.8. The main setup of the processor is matched the output channel and the screen input channel. Select the left handler to output the channel number and drag to the right screen wall to complete the screen wall configuration, as shown in Figure 4.9.If you make a mistake, only double click on the right side of the screen wall can be restored, also can click to reset the current or reset all configuration.

Splicing setting

Click splicing setting, as shown in Figure 4.8. It mainly sets up the combination way of splicing wall, inputting the number of rows and columns of the current splicing wall. And select the output resolution according to the actual situation at the same time, as shown in Figure 4.10.

As shown in Figure 4.11, display mode setting: advanced settings can change the parameters of the output screen. After adjusting, click the set button to take effect. If there is any confusion in the process, click restore to get the default value. When the configuration parameters are completed, please click save, and the device will save them.

4.2.4 Window opening and edit

After connecting the processor, it will automatically display the input signal source information in the signal source list. When the input signal source is connected to the signal, the icon corresponding to the input channel will show blue, otherwise it will display red, as shown in Figure 4.12.

Window opening

Select and click the valid signal source (access signal), then select the screen position to display. Hold on the left key of the frame, and then unclinch the left key to complete the window function, as shown in Figure 4.13.

Signal switching

First, you can choose single or multiple opened target frames, then double-click the valid signal in the signal sources list to complete the signal window switching.

Window editing and layer operation

The size of the layer can be adjusted by dragging the window’s edge.

The toolbar provides the operation of multiple windows and layers, such as the unit maximization, full screen display and restore of the window. At the same time, it also provides the top layer and the bottom of the operation to complete the switching between layers. And it can delete one or all the layers of the window.

4.2.5 Plan and polling

Save plan

When the window’s position, size and input source are all adjusted, you can click save on the toolbar, then save the preplan number, the preplan name and the related information in the pre- window, as shown in Figure 4.14. And confirm the reservation of the plan.

Plan calling

The saved plan according to the above method will be displayed in the menu, and then is click on plan management on the interface. As shown in Figure 4.15, all the plan information is displayed. And double click one of the plans to complete the call of the plan.

After choosing one or more of the plans, click the right mouse button to delete the preplan. After deletions, the preplan will be deleted from the device.

Plan polling

The software can also poll the plan, click the poll button on the toolbar. And select the plan you want to poll in the plan list. As shown in Figure 4.17, set up the polling interval between each plan and click the start so that the plan polling can be completed.

In the process of plan polling, no operation can be done on the interface. We can stop the current process if we have to. As shown in Figure 4.16 and figure 4.17, we can stop the current polling by clicking stop polling.

4.2.6控屏模式

This software can control the on-off of the splice screen and switch channels. Click the straight mode in the screen operating mode in the auxiliary tool, as shown in Figure 4.18.

Click on the communication settings as shown in Figure 4.18, and you can set the communication parameters on the splicing screen, as shown in Figure 4.19. Select the communication screen wall, then select the communication link "Ethernet" or "serial port", and set the corresponding parameters. At the same time select the command protocol corresponding to the screen, click OK to exit setting lastly.

Attention: Different screens may need to choose different protocol commands. If the control doesn’t work, please contact the supplier.

After completing the setup, you can click any one in the simulated splicing screen on the interface, then click the right mouse button to turn on-off the single screen or switch the input channel, as shown in Figure 4.20. You can also click turn on screen or turn off screen to complete switch function through the toolbar, as shown in Figure 4.18

4.2.7 Auxiliary tool

The most commonly used tools in the auxiliary tools are the switch operation of the buzzer, the reading of the device version information and the authorization verification.

Click turn on the buzzer and turn off the buzzer on the toolbar..

Authentication authority

When the device exceeds the authorized time, it will not display the output information, while the authorization can be solved. First, click on the authentication authority on the toolbar, as shown in Figure 4.21.

First, export the serial number document, then the serial number document (suffix sltkey) is sent to the supplier, and the authorized document will be sent back from the supplier (the suffix is sltreg). Import this document completing the authorization, and the device can be used normally.

Open the EDID

The EDID file (*.sltEDID) saved through this software can be opened by this function and read the detailed information of the EDID file.

Version

Click on the device version on the toolbar to display the version information of the device, including the version of the host, the version of the input and output card, and so on.


5.Common faults

5.1,If the POWER light is not bright, the operation does not respond.:

solution:

The power supply is not irregular, please confirm whether the power is normal: 220VAC, 50/60Hz.

5.2,The reason for the no display of the output picture:

1. No signal input;

2. The output line is damaged or beyond the transmission distance.

solutions:

1.Check the input signal to confirm that the input signal channel is normal;

2. Confirm that the OUT is connected to the output device, and the IN is connected to the input device;

3. Using better cable to ensure the stability and high quality of the picture.

5.3, The cause of color cast in the picture:

1. Loosening of interfaces leads to poor contact;

2. Damage of signal cable;

3. The color adjustment of display device is incorrect;

solutions:

1. After connecting the interface, tighten the bolt to prevent the loosening caused by pulling

2. Please change the cable with good quality;

3. Adjust the color balance of the display equipment with reference to the instructions.

5.4, The cause of a jitter or a points:

1. Causing great loss of signal since the cable is too long;

2. Equipment instability or wire damage in the input signal;

3. The power’s ground wire is not connected well so that the signal interference appears.

solutions:

1.It is suggested that using the signal extender to ensure the minimum line loss.;

2. Debug the definition of input signal and use high quality wire;

3. It is suggested that all the equipment be connected to the same earth wire.

5.5, Reasons that the picture is not full, and with a black edge:

1. Your display device has a back end removal of the signal;

2. You have adjusted the position of the image too much by controlling the software.

solutions:

1. According to the instructions of the display device, you can settle the default settings in the software.

2. By controlling the software, the position of the image is readjusted to get the effect you need.
